Birdscaping

Birdscaping is just creating an environment for your birds all season long. Some species on the bird list is considered rare and by creating an environment for them, you help give them a place to eat, rest and nest. The plants on this page is just suggestions and please check for availability. Though listed we may not carry those particular plants but give the list as a helpful guide for your birdscaping needs.

Thanks for birdscaping with Glass Gardens!

Birdbath Landscaping Tips:

For birds bathing and drinking also a great ornamental for your birdscape.

*Water depth:1-2 inches deep, no deeper than 3 inches
*rough surface so they don't slip
*put in a open area - so cats can't surprise them. 2 feet of open space is good.
*A place to perch, a small tree/bush.
*keep the water clean.
*Splashing water attracts birds, so a fountain or spray would be great if you can.

If algae is a problem on the bottom of your birdbath. Try this: 3/4 cup of non-scented bleach with a gallon of water. Scrub with a stiff brush. You may have to repeat one more time. pour some solution into basin, and let sit for an hour with a board on top.(we do not want birds visiting when we use solution) Remember to wear gloves while cleaning as bleach may irritate skin.
